Landscape and More: Everything You Need to Know

The WLS elves sleighed this customer’s holiday decor in the Fern Creek area with their “Grinch” themed holiday lighting installation. The Grinch theme includes red, white, and green professional C9 faceted bulbs. We cut our lights to custom fit your rooflines, windows, columns, shrubs, and whatever other features you want to light up for the holiday season.

This customer in Glenmary called us to clean up their landscape beds and replace their outdated landscape lighting system. After a 1-1 on-site consultation, Kyle created a custom landscape and lighting design for their home. We use CAST lighting fixtures which are solid sand-cast bronze which is the most corrosion-resistant metal used to make landscape lighting fixtures. They add elegance to any space on top of providing light to highlight walkways, steps, and landscaping features of your property.

With holiday lighting from WLS, you’re getting all of the magic with none of the hassle. There’s no untangling the lights, worrying about broken bulbs, messing with the ladder, or getting on the roof. Once you decide what you want your theme to be - from traditional white lights to the “Grinch” - red, white, green, “Candy Cane” - red and white, “Frozen” - blue and white, or traditional multi-color bulbs, we take care of the rest.

Fall is a great time of year to plant trees and shrubs in the Louisville area. The major heat of summer is gone, but the soil temperatures are still warm. This gives two benefits to your newly planted tree or shrub - cooler weather is easier on new plant installation while the warm soil still encourages strong root growth.

At WLS, we believe every home deserves to shine and the landscape is an integral part of showcasing your home's natural beauty. Recently, we worked on a property for our long-time customer in Highview, KY where the front shrubs and trees had become overgrown and were hiding the home’s features. The challenge for this particular property included overgrown shrubs blocking walkways and windows, extra foliage crowding the foundation beds, and a general need for reshaping and refreshing the landscape.

Our customer in the Highview area called to get the shrubs around their home trimmed. We trimmed and shaped the hedges in the front of the house below the window sill which maximized the amount of natural sunlight being let into the home. This is especially important during the cooler weather to allow maximum airflow when the windows are open and naturally provide heat to the home's interior.
