  • Do I have to call each year for service?

    Mowing and fertilization and weed control services are on-going from season to season. Any landscaping or one-time services need to be requested as desired. 

  • How can I pay?

    You can access all of your invoices through the customer portal where you can pay with credit card, debit card, or ACH. You can also enroll in Autopay which will process your preferred payment as services are completed. We also accept checks, money orders, and you can call to pay over the phone if you prefer. 

  • How long have you been in business?

    We have been serving the Louisville area since 1979. 

  • What services do you offer?

    Every service is going to be different for every property. We can provide upfront pricing for all of our services with the exception of leaf removal before service is provided.   • Landscape Lighting FAQ

    How much will landscape lighting in Louisville, KY affect my electric bill? 

    Very minimally! All of the lighting fixtures we use are LED lights which are energy efficient and will not cause a significant increase to your electric bill. 


    How much does landscape lighting cost? 

    The cost for every landscape lighting project will vary based on the number and type of light fixtures selected. We offer financing - including 0% financing options - so that every project can fit into your budget. 


    How many landscape lights does my house need? 

    Each home is different depending on the area you want to illuminate. We create a lighting design based on your wants and needs that will highlight the beauty of your home!  


    How long does landscape lighting take to install? 

    Installations are typically completed in one day. 


    Can I change the color of my lights? 

    Yes! There are color changing light options which can be controlled from an easy to use app on your phone. If you prefer to have only white lights, those are an option as well. 


    What types of landscape lighting services do you offer?

    We can illuminate your home, landscape, free standing trees, path lighting, etc to help you create the outdoor living space of your dreams from consultation, design, and installation! 


    What are the benefits of landscape lighting?

    Can landscape lighting improve home security? 

    A well designed landscape lighting plan will improve visibility and therefore safety simply because you are illuminating that area. 


    Do you offer LED lighting options? 

    Yes! All of the lighting fixtures we use are LED lights. These are the most energy efficient, give the best color saturation, and will not cause a significant increase to your electric bill. 


    How do I maintain my landscape lighting system? 

    All of the fixtures that we install are professional, high quality lighting fixtures with a lifetime warranty. If you ever have any issues with your fixtures, simply reach out to us and we will repair or replace as needed. 


    Do you offer custom lighting designs?

    Yes! A WLS lighting design professional will meet you for a 1-1 consultation, walk through your property, and discuss your needs and wants for a lighting plan. We will then design a custom plan that fits those specifications.

  • Holiday Lighting FAQ

    Q: Will the holiday lights in Louisville, KY increase my electric bill? 

    A: We use commercial grade, custom cut, LED lighting. This minimizes energy consumption while maximizing brightness and curb appeal. 


    When should I schedule my Christmas light installation in Louisville, KY? 

    The earlier the better to secure your spot on our schedule. As you know, the holiday season goes by very quickly and the holiday lighting season is very short. We start installations as early as October! 


    What colors are available? 

    With our custom cut professional lights we are able to customize nearly any color combination you want!


    Do I have to store the lights when they’re not up? 

    No, we do it all! Our holiday lighting service includes installation, maintenance, removal, and storage. 


  • Mowing FAQ

    Q: Do you offer a one time mowing service in Louisville, KY? 

    A: No, we do not offer one time or part time mowing service. 

     

    Can I get my yard cut on a bi-weekly basis? 

    We only mow on a weekly basis. We find that customers are more satisfied with the look of their property with a weekly service. Also, you actually save money in the long term with a weekly service because of the reduced time required to complete the service compared to a less frequent service. 


    How often should I mow my lawn in Louisville, KY? 

    Due to the growing season in Louisville, KY it is best to mow your lawn approximately 1 time weekly. It is recommended not to mow over one-third of the blade height off at one time. The benefits of regular lawn mowing include protecting your grass’ health and keeping your lawn looking great! 


    What is included in the mowing service? 

    Your weekly service includes mowing, weed eating, and blowing of your property. 



    Do you offer residential mowing in Louisville, KY? 

    We offer both residential and commercial mowing services. 


    How long is the mowing season? 

    In the Louisville area the mowing season is typically from Mid-March through November. 


    What if it rains on my scheduled mowing day? 

    We schedule our mowing services so that the same crew is on your property on the same day each week. If we are anticipating rain or you missed your day due to rain, your service could be shifted earlier or later in the week to ensure your lawn continues to look its best. 


    How am I billed for my service? 

    We have found that our customers appreciate knowing exactly what they are going to pay each month. We divide your total seasonal cost into equal billings over the service period.


  • Fertilization and Weed Control FAQ

    When should I start fertilization and weed control applications in Louisville, KY? 

    ASAP! Our full seasonal program begins in early spring with pre-emergent applications, but regardless of time of year it is best to start immediately.  Specific weeds germinate at different times.   


    When is the best time for weed control on my lawn?

    Your lawn has different needs throughout the year and based on weather conditions certain products are more effective than others. We also target our applications throughout the season to maximize control of weeds that are present during that specific time of year. Check out our program outline above for more specific details about each application. 


    How quickly will I see results after a treatment? 

    Typically within 7 - 10 days after an application you will see a noticeable weed reduction. 


    How often should I apply weed control to my lawn in Louisville, KY? 

    Applications are completed approximately every 6 - 8 weeks; this will vary depending on weather, time of year, and other factors.  


    Are the products applied to my lawn safe for me and my pets? 

    Yes! All of our products are registered and approved by the EPA for residential and commercial properties. We apply every product according to the label recommendations by the manufacturer. 


    How soon after fertilization or weed control applications can I use my lawn?

    For granular applications - there’s generally no waiting period.  If so, you will receive detailed directions on what to do before utilizing your lawn. For liquid applications we recommend keeping people and pets off the treated areas until it is dry - approximately one hour. The technician will leave an application sheet with the time and date of the application for your reference. We generally ask you to wait 24 hours after an application to mow your lawn.


    What if it rains after my application? 

    Generally, once it is dry, your application should be okay (which is about an hour as noted above). In the case of granular product applications, rain helps to dissolve and activate the product! 


    I am on your program - why do I have weeds? 

    Different weeds germinate at different times of the year. The seeds are already present in your yard. This is the reason we make multiple weed control applications throughout the year. Building turf density is the key to weed prevention. Call the office to discuss other services like aeration or power seeding that will help you build up the turf density which helps prevent weeds from being able to break through.


    I have violets - can you help? 

    Violets are very difficult to control. Spring and fall are the best time to thin violets out. Please call our office if you wish to discuss violets in detail.  


    Do I have to call each year for applications? 

    No, our fertilization and weed control program continues from season to season. For any changes in service, please call our office at 502-499-7841. 


    How can I prepare my lawn for the winter?

    As part of our seasonal program we include a slow release fertilizer that helps provide your lawn with the micronutrients it needs for root nourishment throughout winter. We also recommend making sure all leaves are cleaned up and they are not left on the lawn until the spring. 


    What is the best time to fertilize my lawn?

    The best time to fertilize in Louisville, KY is in the Early to Mid-Winter and Early Spring. We include fertilizer in our seasonal program at both of these times to maximize root development and carbohydrate reserves. Strong grass plants are able to naturally prevent weed growth and fungus/disease development. 


  • Seeding and Aeration FAQ

    How often do I need to seed my lawn in Louisville, KY?

    The grass plants in your lawn have a lifespan of 7 - 10 years. You need to make sure you are seeding every few years to maintain the grass density. The best way to prevent weeds is to ensure they don’t have space to grow - seeding helps accomplish this! 


    Do you offer power seeding in Louisville, KY? 

    Yes, we recommend power seeding for lawns that are thin, patchy, or with lots of weeds. Power seeding is a more intensive seeding solution than broadcast seeding. 


    How often should I aerate?  

    We recommend annual aeration and broadcast seeding for optimal lawn health. 


    When should I seed my lawn?  

    The best time for seeding in the Louisville area is in the fall. This is because temperatures are generally cooler so your grass plants aren’t under heat stress, but the soil is warm enough to support seed germination. 


    How long will it take to see results from aeration and seeding? 

    Your grass seed will start to germinate within a few weeks. However, remember that your lawn’s health and visual appearance requires a long term plan and consistency. 


  • Leaf Removal FAQ

    Can I schedule my leaf removal ahead of time? 

    We can book your leaf removal in Louisville, KY weekly, bi-weekly, or at whatever frequency you prefer. We recommend that you do not wait until the very end of the season to do one clean up. This can be harmful to your grass.  We also recommend a final clean up at the end of the season to prepare your lawn for winter. 


    How much does leaf removal cost? 

    This is the only service we don’t quote ahead of the service. There are too many factors that can change from day to day - wind, rain, frost, snow, etc - that impact the leaf volume at time of service. 


    Do you take call-in clients? 

    Yes! Depending on the weather, we can usually schedule clients for service within 1 week. Typically, we are not able to accommodate call-in clients for the week of Thanksgiving. 


  • Snow and Ice Management FAQ

    Do you offer residential snow and ice management in Louisville, KY? 

    No, we only offer commercial snow and ice management services in Louisville. 


    How quickly can I get service? 

    We offer two levels of service - Priority 1 and Priority 2 - based on your properties specific needs. Priority 1 accounts get serviced first.  You choose the option that fits you best. 


    Why do you measure my property?

    The only way to make an accurate application of material is to know the square footage we are servicing.  Products are applied at a specific rate based on the type of material being utilized.  Otherwise, you are wasting your money.


    What kind of material do you use? 

    Every storm is different. Based on the needs of your property and the type of winter weather event, we choose from magnesium chloride, calcium chloride, blended products, and even liquid treatments. 


    Do you offer a call-in service when I need it? 

    No.  We only offer service on a contractual basis.


    Do you do sidewalks?

    Only for our full-service accounts.


    Do you charge by the hour?

    No.  We give you a fixed price so you know exactly what our service cost before it snows.   


    Why should I pretreat my property?

    Pretreating assists the snow and ice from bonding to the pavement and begins melting immediately.  Thus requiring less time and material to complete the job and saving you money.


    Do I call when it starts snowing for service?

    No need to do that.  With our service we manage the event so you don’t have to.
